Madurai is a major city in the state of Tamilnadu, Madurai is situated on the bank of vaigai river, Madurai is an important industrial and educational hub in south Tamilnadu and the city of Madurai is also called as "toonganagaram"as the city never sleeps, it works 24/7, always crowded even in nights, Madurai is the second corporation after Chennai, in ancient days it was the capital of the pandiya kingdom and Madurai was also called as the temple city .

Madurai has a number of historical monuments with the world famous "Lord Meenakshi Amman temple" and "tirumalai nayak palace" being the most prominent and filled with many large and small temples in the city, its called the temple city.
